Where Do I Start if I Suspect Mold?
Inspecting & Testing
Identifying The Concern
Interpreting The Results
Understanding Your Mold Situation
After a GreenWorks-certified inspector collects the appropriate samples, they will be taken to a qualified Texas laboratory for testing. Typically results are available within 3 business days. Once the results are received, you will receive a full mold report that includes a list of the types of molds found within the samples, any conducive conditions found within the property, and recommendations, if necessary.
At GreenWorks, we understand the importance of communication, which is why our inspectors are available for consultation via phone or email and will provide a verbal summary of concerns at the completion of the assessment if you choose to attend the inspection.

Mold Protocol
Creating a Plan
- Industry-recognized
- Licensed consultants
- Reliable solutions
Our licensed Texas mold assessment consultants (MAC) will create mold protocols—basically a work plan—that licensed remediation contractors will use to remediate your mold issue. These are typically written plans for when items or areas have been identified containing an unacceptable amount or type of mold. Protocols are required on all mold remediation projects performed by a licensed mold remediation contractor (MRC) regardless of size/square footage.
Use of The Mold Protocol
Why It's Needed Before Remedation
You may be wondering why this additional step is required to be completed before jumping into remediation. Think of the mold protocol as a plan of attack, drawn up by the leaders at the Pentagon—that’s GreenWorks—to be used by those in the field to win the battle—the remediation contractors.
A mold protocol will help the contractors identify the affected areas, the materials that need to be removed, discarded or cleaned, and the methods to be used in each area, for every affected item or material. The protocol will also detail the proper safety measures the contractor will need to take, like the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to wear, and what type of containment should be used.

Mold Clearance Inspection
Confirming A Successful Remedation
After the removal and cleanup have been completed—but before any reconstruction occurs – our licensed consultants will visit your property to conduct a mold clearance inspection. We will verify that all removal and cleaning procedures have been followed per the Texas mold protocol. Additionally, we will collect additional air samples to confirm that the remediation was successful.
After the results come back from the lab—and if remediation was successful—you are on your way to obtaining your Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation (CMDR). This legal document shows that your home was successfully remediated from mold—handy information for insurance and mortgage companies, or buyers interested in your property.
